Today Dianne and I went out for lunch. I had arranged for Tori to meet us as well as she had bought a ticket to go and see a band, the Hilltop Hoods, and had the ticket sent out to our address.
We arranged to go to West Lakes shopping centre and Tori was going to meet us there. While we were on our way there she rang to say that she wouldn't be able to meet us as she had an interview to go to in the early afternoon. Oh well, now I will have to arrange to meet her in the city tomorrow afternoon to give her the ticket. The concert is tomorrow night.
Dianne and I continued on our way to West Lakes, we were nearly there anyway, and had a great time browsing the shops and having some lunch. I also was able to get Dianne her birthday present. We were having so much fun we didn't realise how quickly the time had gone. When we checked, it was well after 4.00pm and so I rang Tony to let him know I would pick him up on the way home.
While we were at West Lakes we came across a display of decorated cakes. Several years ago I used to do cake decorating, and did many cakes for birthdays, weddings, christenings and so on. I would have loved to continue to keep on doing it but alas I began to get arthritis in my fingers and it became too painful.
While we were looking at these beautifully decorated cakes Dianne recognised a couple of the names. They were the children of a neighbour of Rick's sister. What an amazing job they did, the boy got 1st prize, his sister got 3rd prize and they were judged in the category 8-12 years old.

Looking at these cakes makes me want to go and do it all over again.
I don't remember being asked to be a model for this hehe
Gosh, what fabulous cakes! I just love that last one! She could be me too. My family was not big on cake eating, so I never got into the decorating. But this sure looks like so much fun. Hugs, Edna B.
