Going For A Dive

Friday 7th January, 2011

Woke up this morning to a gorgeous morning but it soon started to warm up.  Todays' predicted temperature was going to be 34C.  No rain but a lot of cloud was going to come in making for a rather humid afternoon/evening.  Not that I minded....I like that kind of weather.

Katie was dropped off by her Mum and Darrin and it was so good to see her again.  I know Christmas was only 2 weeks ago, but it seems like ages.  She caught me up on all of her news, going to OSH (out of school hours) and them going to the beach and snorkelling around the reef.  She saw lots of fish and even a baby shark.

She had been to the movies and seen 'Tangled", which she really liked.  Darn, cos that's one of the things I thought we could have done this weekend.  She had been riding her scooter and playing with her netball.

We went into town and met Tony, went and had coffee and then to the pool seeing it was so hot.  Not the leisure pool anymore for Katie, she's more interested in the diving pool now.  Tonight was her first jump from the diving board and she loved it.  I was nervous watching her as she was jumping into 5 metres of water, but she coped very well.  No sooner was she out of the water, she was back lining up again to have another go.

One thing about her, she is willing to have a go at anything.  Sometimes I dread what she is going try next.......climb Mt Everest perhaps?  She is a real outdoors girl with that spirit of adventure.

From the Lens...........Katie's first dive off the diving board (sorry it's blurry)
